LULOU M.U.A

My makeup is art that is lived in….

LuLouMUA a mixed race, London raised, bi-sexual female artist has over 14 years experience in the make up, hair & beauty industry. Qualified in tv, film, theatre & media, hair & makeup, she comes with a vast range of skill sets when it comes to knowledge of skin tone and hair type & texture. “Being raised in a very non conventional way & family made me realise the range of beauty & vast skin tones that come within the world”

This started Louise’s journey into a different world of beauty one where she wants to make sure that everyone feels included no matter race, age, sexuality, or religion: She has made sure that inclusiveness is at the forefront of her art, while still ensuring her art combines timeless classics with modern twists of fashion in the mix. Louise takes a personal stance that make up is for everybody & the art that comes within is that it should be seen & felt by everyone.

Louise launched her career in 2009 after being undecided in the conventional lawyer lifestyle having just completed her A-levels in photography, history, politics, & English literature “I wasn’t sure if having my head in books all day was really the life style for me, coming from a family that helped create parts of London such a the BT Tower:

“I knew the artist was locked in me some where I just had to find a way get it out”

she then started journey in hair & quailed within a year, also doing a side course in Afro-Caribbean hair, which at the time in the Uk was still not being considered to be taught as the standard in hair schools as it is today. she believes more work still needs to be done & champions in the belief to learn from people with experience not just qualifications. At the time Louise still hadn’t entered the world of makeup and knew she wanted to be a Jack of all trades:

“ I needed to be able to do more than just hair, I wanted hair to always be the part that shows off my art, so I knew I need to get qualified in makeup straight away”

And so she did, attending CONEL (College Of North East London) & Hertfordshire University. Once finished she launch herself into various brands in the UK such as Bare Minerals, Laura Mercier, KVD Beauty, Bobbi Brown & Nars to name a few. From working along side other artist & influencers such Adeola Gboyega in Uk Afro hair & beauty, to working in campaign event such a Nars 25th Anniversary celebration “the O” with Nars, to gracing independent London fashion shows & helping clothing designers key their visions to life as leading key makeup artist. As well working in film productions such as “Honey Trap” (2014), staring Jessica Sula & Lucien Laviscount & theatre production “Daisy pulls it off” starting Pauline McLynn & Anna Shaffer (2017-2018), to gracing the cover of Diva Magazine(2022)  with Lady Phyll (Phyll Opoku-Gyimah) co founder of Uk black pride.

Louise really has a plethora of experience, but isn’t done there! She recently qualified in the beauty therapy industry (2022), shot for Steve Maden Handles TDNB (2023) & now stand as a Business Manager in the Uk Boots-walgreen Alliance brand No7 (2022-2023) bringing professional business management skills with her art keying that towards her freelance work & she’s still going, projecting herself into place where she’s able to educate and teach in various sectors of the beauty industry. she really wants to make sure she is your one stop shop for everything.
